I chose the just photograph portions of the piece with the buildings filling the whole background

The contrast of the light of the ice and the darkness of the lake was caught by the camera as a metered to allow this to happen

As we approached them we had the open oceans waters which provided a backdrop of distance in this image under overcast skies on this afternoon

The road was still in the process of being cleared for the season and scheduled to open in less than a week

Numerous cruise ships in port and the float planes arriving from their tours of the area

Sloans Lake Colorful Sunrise Building I chose the just photographl went to Sloans Lake on a September morning with the goal of capturing the rising sun over the city of Denver. When I arrived the clouds were covering the city. In the matter of a few minutes they started to show the colors of the sun before sunrise which I was able to photograph. The calm winds as well as a long exposure helped add to the picture with the city and colors in the clouds reflecting in the lake.
