Beginning his career in Issey Miyake in 1980, Takizawa first dabbled in Issey Miyake's Plantation line, which offered genderless clothing suitable for people of all ages and sizes. The designs, made primarily from natural materials, were simple and loose, with an artisanal touch. Takizawa has also designed garments for Empress Michiko, Wong Kar Wai, East Japan
